Newlyweds Planting Roots in the Community: Meet Dwan & Steven

Every great community begins with the people who choose to call it home. Meet Dwan and Steven, a newlywed couple planting their roots in Blossom Rock. Steven is an Arizona native, while Dwan recently returned to the state after spending time in South Carolina. Together, they’ve found a place where community, outdoor adventure, and meaningful connections come naturally—and they chose one of Blossom Rock’s most scenic spots to celebrate the start of their life together.

A Love for Arizona
For Steven, the desert has always been home. As an Arizona native, he’s watched the Valley grow—from open desert landscapes to thriving cities filled with homes, parks, and local destinations. Over the years, he’s made countless memories in Arizona’s outdoors including fishing, boating, camping, waterskiing, and tubing down the Salt River. Steven is also a proud father of five and a grandfather to five grandchildren.

Dwan’s journey brought her back to Arizona after some time away. Having previously lived in the state for work, she realized how much she missed it and knew it was a place she wanted to return to. Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, she now works from home in the insurance industry. Outside of work, she enjoys crafting and often donates her projects to local organizations. She’s also a proud mother of two sons and shares her home with three beloved dogs—two schnauzers and a terrier mix.

Finding the Right Place to Plant Roots
When looking for a home, Dwan and Steven wanted more than just a house—they wanted a community. Blossom Rock stood out with its thoughtful design, miles of walking paths, beautiful neighborhood parks, and a growing calendar of events that make it easy to connect with neighbors. One early favorite was Mine & Wine Night, where they experienced firsthand the community’s friendly, inclusive spirit.

A Wedding at Painted Sky Park
Not long after moving in, the couple celebrated a milestone that deepened their connection to Blossom Rock. On December 3, 2024, Dwan and Steven got married at Painted Sky Park, surrounded by the community’s stunning scenery. Their favorite moment came at sunset, when the lake fountain glowed against the vibrant Arizona sky—a breathtaking backdrop for the day.

Getting Involved
Since moving in, Dwan and Steven have been busy meeting neighbors and exploring ways to engage. They recently joined a community painting party and loved meeting fellow residents. Looking ahead, they’re excited to volunteer, participate in community outreach, organize couples’ activities, explore trails, visit farmers markets, and even host outings for seniors.

What Makes a Community Thrive
For Dwan and Steven, a strong community is built on connection. Inclusive activities, opportunities to celebrate neighbors, and support for local businesses help foster kindness, understanding, and meaningful relationships. It’s the people—and the ways they come together—that truly make a place flourish.

As Blossom Rock continues to grow, stories like Dwan and Steven’s show how every new resident shapes the community. From sunset weddings at Painted Sky Park to future gatherings, their journey is just beginning. Like so many residents, they’re helping Blossom Rock bloom into something truly special.
