Painted Sky Park Named Outstanding Facility
Big news for Blossom Rock and the City of Apache Junction! Painted Sky Park has been awarded the 2025 Outstanding Facility for Populations 25,000–100,000 by the Arizona Parks & Recreation Association (APRA) at their 75th Annual Conference & Awards Banquet.
Each year, APRA honors communities throughout the State of Arizona that demonstrate excellence in long-range planning, resource management, and innovative approaches to delivering superb park and recreation services with fiscally sound business practices. A panel of experienced professionals reviews applications and evaluates facilities based on:
• Impact the facility has on the overall leisure opportunities of the service area in addition to demonstrating the need for the service area
• Works from a functional as well as an aesthetic standpoint
• Innovative features, energy conservation, and environmental sensitivity
• Unique methods of financing
This year, Painted Sky Park distinguished itself through its inspired design, commitment to environmental stewardship, and its unique ability to foster meaningful connections among all who visit.

As the City of Apache Junction’s newest amenity-filled park, Painted Sky Park was created to be a true community hub. Situated within the Blossom Rock master-planned community, this 16-acre destination offers something for everyone:
