Building Community, One Adventure at a Time: Meet Ryan & Sara Flake
At Blossom Rock, community isn't just an idea—it’s something we live, build, and grow together. No one embodies that spirit more than Ryan and Sara Flake, two Blossom Rock’ residents and proud pioneers helping shape this vibrant new frontier in the East Valley.
With a shared love for the outdoors, a deep-rooted desire for connection, and an adventurous spirit, the Flakes are the kind of neighbors who help turn a neighborhood into a community.
From Hikes to Homeowners
Ryan, a Mesa native, and Sara, who moved to Arizona from Oregon in search of sunshine, first crossed paths in a singles hiking Facebook group. From that moment on, they’ve been inseparable—camping, spending days on the lake, exploring the desert, and catching sunsets together.
After living in and around Eastmark since 2019 and watching the East Valley evolve, they were excited by the opportunity to be part of something new from the very beginning. Blossom Rock, just 4 miles away, felt like a natural step—a new adventure that didn’t mean starting over.
A Household Full of Heart & Adventure
At home, the Flake family enjoys a mix of play and light-hearted competition. Their two boys keep things lively with VR games, karate, flag football, and family bike rides. Evenings are often spent watching a good challenge-based reality show—or battling it out in Mario Party (spoiler: the boys usually win).
Adventure doesn’t stop there. Ryan recently completed 300 sprint triathlons in one year, and Sara is a seasoned ultramarathon runner. Their drive, support for one another, and love for endurance reflect the same energy they’re bringing to Blossom Rock: full of determination, connection, and a willingness to go the distance—together.
Close to Nature - Connected to What Matters
For the Flakes, Arizona’s outdoors offer endless possibilities. From moonlit paddleboarding on Saguaro Lake to hiking Flatiron or running desert races at McDowell Mountain Park, they never stop exploring.
Nestled near the Superstition Mountains, Blossom Rock offers the Flakes the adventure of desert living while keeping them close to top-rated schools, shopping, and entertainment. As part of the Blossom Rock Welcome Committee, Ryan and Sara are already playing a role in shaping the future of this growing community. They’re looking forward to neighborhood events, starting clubs, and helping new residents feel right at home.
More than anything, they believe in the power of relationships. To them, a great neighbor is someone who doesn’t just wave hello, but shows up, shares ideas, and encourages growth. They’re excited to help create a place where meaningful relationships flourish and everyone who calls Blossom Rock home feels like they belong.
